Job description A PhD position is currently available at the Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging for a physical scientist/engineer/mathematician interested in methods development for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the context of modern neuroimaging. The project will concentrate on methods development for artefact free acquisition techniques for diffusion tensor imaging, functional magnetic resonance imaging, and fast spectroscopic imaging.
The project is funded by Siemens and will provide ample opportunity for interaction with scientists at the Siemens research and development centre, and provides an ideal entry point for someone wishing to pursue a career in MRI methodology. A PhD position in the Netherlands offers four years of guaranteed funding, and is relatively well paid compared to PhD positions abroad.
Requirements You should hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent). The ideal candidate will have some experience with MRI and knowledge of programming in c++ and matlab. However, general ability, enthusiasm and team skills will be considered more important than specific background knowledge. Proficiency in oral and written English is required. You should be able to work in a team, sharing technical know-how and ideas.

Conditions of employment Employment: 1,0 fte Maximum salary per month, based on a fulltime employment: € 2,612 gross/month The starting salary is € 2,042 per month and will increase to € 2,612 per month in the fourth year. Duration of the contract: 4 years.
