This year’s ISMRM Benelux meeting will take place in Leuven, the capital of Flemish Brabant, renowned for its beautiful historic buildings, including its magnificent Gothic town hall. Leuven is home to the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, established 1425 and the oldest university of the low countries. It’s not only because of its students that Leuven is known as the beer capital of Belgium. The Old Market is the place to be if you’d like to give the huge variety of beers Belgium has to offer a try. Don’t miss out on the Domus tavern at the Tiensestraat, either, since this is a tavern that actually brews its own beer!

Venue
The conference venue is the Leuven Institute for Ireland in Europe. Established in 1607, the Leuven Institute serves the European interests of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland up until this day. It’s recently renovated historical building provides a nice atmosphere for the 2012 ISMRM Benelux meeting.

Parking
Because of its historic location, parking space is not available at the Leuven Institute itself. A nearby public parking is the Heilig Hart parking, Naamsestraat 102.
